Cape Town

We really miss our home in Uitzicht with the garden, indoor braai and kitties, but we know that Johann’s parents are very happy living there and we are very grateful to be able to provide them with a place to stay and 5 kitties to spoil.

The grass needed a bit of attention

Johann planting buffalo grass

It needs some water

Our garden during the drought

And then autumn brought rain and a transformation

Sunset over the Stellenbosch mountains

We planted some lavender and iceberg roses

The future fynbos bed for drought resistant gardening

Enough said :-)

Johann's mom has transformed the garden into her piece of heaven

White Stinkwood surrounded by Johann's favourite vygies

Carob Tree

Admiring the garden with mom during our trip in December 2005

Johann is clearly happy to be in the garden again

The Carob Tree is flowering madly

The straggly Honey Euryops have been replaced with Lavender

All the Honeysuckle are in flower

We installed a trellidoor for added safety

Mom

When we were in Cape Town in August 2006 we spent a day in the garden

Transforming

And planting new trees such as a White Stinkwood

A Rhus and a Dais Pom Pom Tree

Proof of our hard work at the end of the day

Our planting has paid dividends

The "drought resistant" garden is growing well

Vygies everywhere

Johann's mom has adopted one of the kitties that was born in our garden. Her name is Bebe

And this is her special spot in the sun
